Why is sustainability so important? It’s because everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. To pursue sustainability is to create and maintain the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony to support present and future generations.

At Next Wave Seafood, we’re committed to sustainability; it is the driving force behind everything we do. It’s vital that our business model is tailored to permit fulfilling the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations.

Over the years, the public’s interest in sustainability has broadened. According to the National Research Council, this is often the direct result of a combination of efforts by consumers and major retailers across the country.

In addition, sustainability practitioners are becoming more ambitious in their efforts and are working together to share best practices to ensure the greatest environmental, economic and social impact.  Next Wave Seafood is at the forefront of those efforts and will continue to be. We are proud be a 2 Star BAP mussel facility and will continue to improve on that. Additionally, Next Wave Seafood is partnering to create a Fishery Improvement Projects (FIP) on Swordfish. We are proud of all our certifications.
